Default Overhead Panel Latch/Fastener

Hi All,

One of the latches that holds the overhead panel above my driver's seat has failed. To clarify, the knob is fine, but the metal tang that spins in to place has broken off. I've been unable to source anything similar locally. Has anyone found a similar part that can be used? Better yet, does anyone have a spare they'd be willing to part with?

Thanks,

McMaster Carr is the usual source for that kind of stuff.

Thanks Jim & Michele,

Do you happen to have a McMaster part number? I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.

Thanks,

Thanks, Bill. It looks like I need a “Style A” Adjustable-Tension Tight-Hold Knob Cam Latch. I’ll have to pull one that isn’t broken and measure it to determine the correct model. When I do, I’ll post the part number so it’s easy for the next guy/gal.

Default FC Overhead Panel Latch - Southco Compression Latch 16-10-312-14

Hi John,

Thanks for the pdf from Southco. It was the missing link I was looking for. I pulled all 5 overhead panel latches from my panels and compared them to the McMaster & Southco schematics. They are definitely Southco Part No. 16-10-312-14. 5 new latches have been ordered so I'll have a couple spares. Much appreciated.

Best,
