Pay close attention to what Dan said about the pinhole!

OK, thanks everyone. I will try to take the Sporlan valve apart and clean it.

BTW, the upper metal half of the Sporlan valve is hot to the touch when the tank fill switch is on. That must mean the valve is getting power.

I just went through this with my M380 and created a manual backup alternative. First, this only really works if you can readily reach the access port near the top of your water tank (which I can with my 380). I bought 30' of clear vinyl tubing and connected one end to the outlet port of the 380's water filter and pushed the other end into the access port of the tank (after cleaning the end of the tubing with a Clorox wipe). Connected the "garden" hose to the water inlet and filled the tank through the filter and vinyl tube. Oh, and make sure you have two people or some other way of holding the vinyl tube in the tank -- don't ask me how I know this!!

Ultimately, I fixed the wiring to the Sprolan so water fill works as it's supposed to. I still carry the vinyl tube and adapters just in case . Another 380 owner permanently replaced the Sporlan with a ball valve and just manually opens that valve when he need to fill the water tank. Up to you ...

My experience the coils get weak with age/use, always carry a few extras, verify ground connections are effective.

Thanks Bill and Mike. The coil does energize and magnetize, so the problem has to be the diaphragm portion of the Sporlan valve. The valve in my LX is Sporlan type BR246P1, with an MKC1 coil.

I thought that the prices on Sporlan valves have gotten insane. So I replaced it with a size appropriate 12 volt constant closed valve I picked up off of E-bay. Works great and I only have $14. in it, in fact I bought a spare.

Do you have the manufacturer / part number for the valve you got on Ebay? Grainger wants $132 just for the diaphragm part of the Sporlan valve...

Heck Mike it's just an ordinary 1/2 in. double female thread 12 volt constant closed valve. That opens when 12 volt is applied and closes when when the switch is turned off. I think it was a 1/2 inch but it might have been a 3/4 can't remember. Anyway it's a pretty easy job.
