Dash Gauge - LED Replacement

Hi Ron R. Are you down south yet? Wish I could have made it to the rally, but it is on my calendar for next year. This year we got side tracked getting everything set and sending my daughter off to school for her masters in England. Well my rotary illumination dial works, but the bulbs that are installed just don't get bright enough to see the indicator quickly. As for dimming, the rotor dial dims the bulbs to complete darkness. So I figure, I can always dim them enough for my liking (if not I can always replace them with the ones I removed - they are pretty inexpensive).

These are the bulbs I used in my speedo and tach. They are brighter than the bulbs I removed, but honestly, I am still not entirely satisfied with the brightness. Maybe you can find something on ebay with the same base, but with more LEDs.

Thanks Brain for the info. Question, doesn't your TACK and SPEEDO use bayonet type bulbs (BA9 type)? I believe that "Iamflagman" indicated that he used BA9- 9 SMD LED type, for his TACK and SPEEDO. These are 9 LEDs instead of the 6 LEDs used in the smaller gauges. Attached are the LEDs bulbs that are 360 degree illumination from superbrightled.com for reference.

"Iamflagman" John Finn has a 1982. Of course it is always better to measure twice and cut once.., so I would actually look before I buy.

Those are the bulbs that fit my speedo and tach. It seems every year model of wanderlodges are different. Even same year models are different! You probably need to unscrew the panel from the dash and look on the back of the gauges to determine exactly what base you need to replace those bulbs.
