easy peasy.
yep, that was easy enough - tighten the lock mechanism (CW), loosen the screw, turn the wheel 1 turn CCW, tighten the nut, tighten the mechanism, test, repeat until it is tight enough and loose enough.

probably took longer to swap the uninsulated horn spade plug (because I didn't want to cut the wire, so I cut the old crimp apart).

anyone know how the vent fans (roof fans) are supposed to work in a PT? only switch I've found so far is the one over the bed labeled "fan" and it has no effect - the various fans have various controls on them, none of which allow me to even open the vents manually.... nor do they have any other reaction to anything.

next step will be to disassemble and see if they're getting power.... (and based on condition, they're all going to be replaced.)

but it seems like there should be a switch somewhere that controls the front two, not just the bedroom fan?

Default New bird, first bird: 1987 PT40 - Heaven Can Wait

Time for an update.

1987 Wanderlodge PT-40 - VIN 1bbcmbk89hf076718

Here's the history as it's known at this point:

Purchased in August of 1987 by Eric and Rita Myers, of Tampa Florida from Mitchell Motor Coach Sales. Eric named this 'bird "Heaven Can Wait". Bluebird invoice states $259,083, though that's an invoice to Mitchell, so unclear if that's the sellers price or buyers price.

Eric was a Vintage Birds member, and when he passed away in 2014, he got a mention in the Vintage Birds newsletter. http://www.vintagebirds.com/newsletters/VBApr-Jun14.pdf

Eric was also a member of the yahoo group that got archived on wanderlodgegurus.com.

Eric sold this bus in 2005, and stated that it had 113,000 miles on it at the time when he posted it. He'd upgraded to a '93 by that time.

Description: Have been retired for the second time after fourty two (42) years in the auto salvage business in Tampa,
Jackosnville, Orlando, Pompano and Miami Fl. During those same years I spent ten (10) years as a Professional Wrestler, was the
distributor for Taylor Made golf company for north and central Florida. For almost twenty five (25) years I have been a Reserve
Deputy Sheriff. For the last several years I have been teaching Police Motorcycle riding and competeing in Police Motorcycle
skills rodeos. This is just some of the things that I have been doing. After fifty-four (54) years of being single I finally
married Rita who brought me a wonderful daughter, and now I have three grand children that are the love of my life. We own our
third Blue Bird Wanderlodge motorhome and enjoy traveling whenever I can get her away from the kids. We have been to Alaske,
and many parts of the US and Canada. (If any of you are RV'rs and come to Tampa, we would love to see you and have a place for
you to park with service!!) I have just started back playing golf after a fifteen (15) year layoff.
At some point, it was sold to Joseph and Carol Lopez of Nicon Construction. They sold 11/15/2011 to Larry Dillon of Jacksonville Florida.

Larry was a WOG member - https://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.c...ber.php?u=3263

Around 5/2013, Larry repainted the bird (himself) in it's current color scheme.

Before:

After (but not fully assembled):

6/5/14 Larry sold the bird to Joseph St. Cyr and Whitney Hartz of Orange City Florida, who planned to use it in their business, "Search & Rescue Of Central Florida". When it wasn't at Parliament in Tampa for repairs, it was stored indoors at Adult Toy Storage in Maitland Florida.

And on 6/9/18 it was sold to me, David Raistrick, in Geneva, Florida.
