Default Don Carter State Park, Lake Lanier, GA

Has anyone ever stayed here? It is a fairly new GA. State Park, we are going in April for Spring Break.

Yes, we had our bus there a couple of years ago; the park is extremely nice.

We spent Spring Break at Don Carter State Park on Lake Lanier. We stayed in site 28 which is a back in but easy to get in, 50 amp power, some sites have full hookups, but all had at least gray water dumps. We saw several large RV's come and go through out the week so there are many sites that will accomodate BB's. The campground is more mountain feeling than lake feeling as the lake is 50 yards away from most sites. I bet in the summer you can not see water. Nice hiking trails, we used. From the amount of horse trailers in the horse area they must have some really nice horse trails. Cabins for the camper less. 2 boat ramps inside the park and mapped Kayak trails. 14 minutes from the Olympic rowing venue and close to Gainesville and Cleveland. We would definately go again.

Thanks for the update John. It's always nice to get a park report. Between the Corps parks, state parks and other power co parks, Finding a quick get a way is pretty easy in GA.
