Doug, your 2003 model year is confusing. Every other one so far built in 2003 carries a 2004 model year, with body numbers below yours showing 2004.

Don, I agree - I noticed the same thing. Mine is a 2003 single slide Body # W000107. The VIN # 1BBCLB3863W100063. What is interesting is the metal plate attached to the dash by the windshield has the body number W000107 as does the original "Update/Display Body Warranty Policy" printout when the coach went into service.

Actually, the manufacture date of the coach may be 2002, I just don't have access to the information since I'm 100 miles away from the bus! I just put 2003 for the model year. If memory serves me well, this coach was produced in early 2003, sometime around February.

If someone could provide me the link to check the mfg date, I'll be glad to. I'll also call Parliment, as well. May I can get this cleared up.

Thanks,

Doug

Doug, that 3 in the 10th character of the VIN certainly IDs it as a 2003. I would have expected it to end with 107 instead of 63, though. Do others here have VINs handy to compare?

Doug, FYI , from Bluebirds online customer access database.....your bus was delivery to the dealer 02/18/03.....All you need is a body number and you can get all of the m380's delivery dates. If you use the other URL David B posted in a prior thread of his, you'll get all the other info.....if it exists, which it should given the model years of the m308's

Enter Body No :

BODY NUMBER : W000107
VIN NUMBER :
PLBT : H4RE
DELIVERED : 02/18/03
ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER :
TRANSMISSION SERIAL NUMBER :
TRANSMISSION TCM SERIAL NUMBER :
REAR AXLE :
BODY FACTORY SERVICE NUMBER : WH4RE10000340
CHASSIS FACTORY SERVICE NUMBER : WH4RE10000285

link to David B's post. FWIW the customer access link is working, that's how I got Doug's info but the other more detailed one is not, don't know if the server is down or they diabled the link

I ran a few body numbers from this data set and discovered that they were "delivered" all out of order...

Makes sense to me, depends on when the dealer "sold it"..... BB built m380's and m450's on "spec" and "to order".... typical MFG keep the line going and employees working with specs and orders, no down time on the line, throw in a few OTR buses and everybody works and eats . The specs sat around the factory nest for months/ years/ and some trusted dealers took specs for them as well and sat on their lot...... I know, I used to "play" in them in the nest when they were there and they always swapped them out from time to time if they were in for a factory engineering change...... so an older spec build could potentially have a newer delivery date.......... Also they bought engines in bulk and sat around until they went into a coach...if they decided not to build a 380 or 450 the motor sat in inventory until the next year when they did build one and "pick was serial # random" not sequenced....... I used to see the engine room all the time.......one of life's guilty pleasures back them......the other link "down" had the MFG and SER # info, if it comes back up, it may tell a better story but right now this is all you got plus the actual current owners info they post. Heck, FWIW they still had cats left over that CCW built with literally years old.......... there was an unfinished CAT OTR Express bus still there when CCW went bankrupt I saw sitting there on the last tour.

Don, I talked with the folks at Parliament and found some interesting tidbits of information:

Listed below are the last 3 digits of the body number, then the model year associated with the body:

100 - 03 106 - 03
101 - 04 107 - 03
102 - 04 108 - 03
103 - 03 109 - 04
104 - 03
105 - 04

After 109 it stays '04 until body 134 which is a 2003.

Thanks for checking the delivery date on my coach, 2/18/03 which is what I was recalling. I also know the interior order date on my bus was 5/20/02.

All of this is very interesting.

Doug

Chuck,

The miles at my failure was about 75,000. I don't know the cylinder number.
