Default Remove Air Conditioning Belts?

I read this somewhere and can't seem to find the post. I have my bus in for service and they want to replace my AC belts. I told them to remove them since my dash air has never worked. Am I correct in this thinking?

Unless you are going to fix the ac, may as well take the belt off
