if all esle fails, If it can be screwed and glued back together maybe getting it covered in a leather or such that would match other parts of your interior?

Hi Bob,
Sorry to hear of the break-in. I'll bet Ken has the answer if a new dash top can not be found. It should be a fairly simple matter if you have all the pieces to patch, sand it smooth and have it vinyl covered. Mine has a carpet on top that would hide it too. I know this has been a real PITA for you but look on the bright side; you will have the best up to date electronics when all is completed. Hope it is done for you soon.

Bob if you have the majority of the plastic parts then you can hot weld the pieces back together. I have a lister triac heat gun that welds any kind of plastic. I also have somewhere here a list of all kinds of plastics and how to identify them, buy the correct plastic rods to reweld the pieces together, sand down the welds and blend them together.
Here are some ideas; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2pQKPxZMd0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv_SpbqyQvI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95GgGh8Rn0E identifing the plastic: http://www.plasticweldingandtools.co...ification.html welders: http://www.plasticweldingandtools.co...icwelders.html Bottom line is that you can weld your dash parts back together and it will look like new.

Thanks all for the tips.
Stephen want to try to repair it. I have all the parts. it is very light weight. ( A good thing for the 450 ) so I'm going to send it to him. I have some great options to look at if it can't be repaired. Thanks again.

Bob I guess I did not make it clear enough. The dash absolutely can be repaired if by you, if you have all of the pieces. You can even buy pieces of plastic to replace any parts that are missing. Yes you may have to do some cutting and forming the new pieces but the point is its done every day. If their are damaged parts that are a problem you can actually vacuum form new pieces using wooden forms that you can make if you have the proper tools. When you are done you can then go to a paint dealer and buy a pint or quart of the correct color for the dash and paint it if you decide to go that route.

We are looking at making a dash cover as far as welding the dash it would not work it has urethane foam in the center and pvc or pur outer layer
it would be impossible to weld the urethane then the outer cover the simplest way would be to use bonding agent for both materials . I will talk to the rubber expert next week after I receive the dash.
