The are real careful to not say for sure where the car is located.
Of course we know it does not exist, so no way they can show it.
She says she can not complete the transaction in person because of work.
her response and mine.

Unfortunately my work schedule does not allow me to handle this sale in person. If you are interested in purchasing it through eBay using their safe system let me know and we can make this work.

Just asking you to provide the location of the car and provide access to see it. Simple enough. If the car looks as good in person as it does in the pictures, it is worth far more than you are asking, and I am willing to pay top dollar, but I want to see it first. Not that complicated if you are for real and actually have a car. A copy of the title in your name will be a good start.
I am for real and I have the money in hand.

Default Watch your step with scammers!

The downside to your approach is that the scammers now have your email address to sell on the dark web. Don't be surprised when your email starts to fill up with various alerts and offers phishing for information. If they have any sophistication at all, they can also now use your email signature as a front, sending out emails that look like they are sent from your email, but actually return to a blind box they set up. And if anyone actually types the email address rather than hitting return, then it will fill your email with strange responses. I hope these guys are simple scammers and are just out for the $1500 that you will not give them. My basic rule of craigslist is local only, only if it shows a location, and nothing that sounds too good to be true without an obvious local dated picture. I'm a little paranoid, but I've seen a few things in previous work. There's a reason I don't do facebook. WOG is about as social media as I get.

I just realized something; she is selling it on craigslist but wants to use ebay to complete the sale. How does that work???
And this is from ebay:
t is important to remember, eBay does not “validate” listings, provide escrow services, or make payment arrangements on behalf of sellers. To verify that an email claiming to be from eBay is legitimate you should sign in to your My eBay account and check your In Box. If the email is legitimate you will find a copy in your My eBay In Box. If you don’t find the same message in your In Box, it is fake.

Have you ever looked at the headers for the e-mails to tell what IP they were sourced from? With gmail that doesn't always work, because if they are on a computer with a private IP and log into the web interface to send their mails it won't be traceable (but will still show in the headers), but any public IP can be located.

It will look something like this (this is an untraceable private IP/web login on an email I got today):
Received: by 10.37.14.70 with HTTP

Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I must dispose of immediately. Incredible low price for quick cash sale. Only $4,341.10

Another tool, works perhaps 50-70% of the time on these scam ads that have photos:

On many browsers you can "right click" on a photo and a option box will appear. Select "search Google for image". Often you can find the same exact ad photo being used from California to NYC in various scam ads.
