Default Transmatic

I have a 1973 Wanderlodge with a Ford 391 engine. 6 speed auto transmission.
The tag on the trans says Transmatic. Is it an ALLISON or some type of heavy duty Ford Trans or something else? If ALLISON can I use ALLISON seals etc. or do they need to be Transmatic. I always thought there were ALLISON trans in bluebirds. I’m confused. Need info.
Thanks

I'm thinking its an Allison,Mike H will be along, hes messed with the old Allison 6 speeds before.
Does it have a pedal like a clutch on the left?
The retarder works with a pedal i think?

My 73 FC-31 with the 391 Ford Industrial gas engine had an Allison MT40 six speed transmission but it had a Ford name plate of some kind on the side of it. It may have said "Transmatic" but I don't remember.

MT-40 it is, had one in the Prison bus, used adapters from a truck block 427 Chevy/643 Allison to screw the MT to the 520 Bigblock Chevy, had to do some lathe work for thrust clearances. Worked good going forward, engine made wonderful noises, retarder sort of worked in a way.

Default Transmatic

Thanks all. I’ll pass it along to the mechanic. He has found some seals
and gaskets. It was leaking at a shaft and someone had fashioned a “recovery”
pan? Under the shaft to catch the trans fluid. It was made from the bottom of a 1 quart plastic oil container. I’ve owned this for 18 years and saw it when I was
inspecting and doing my yearly servicing, repairs etc. and it never dawned on me until it was pointed out. It’s losing a little more trans. fluid than it has in the past so it’s time to have work done. Gonna do what we can without removing it.
It does have the retarder pedal.
