Default Dan Lefty needs help

Dan Leftwich, 914-629-2277,
87 3208 FC, is down on the road near Richmond ,Va.
He is safe for now in a Holiday Inn/Comfort Inn parking lot.
The harmonic balancer /dampener came apart.
He has the part number & will order the part in the morning.
He can't do the work himself in a parking lot , so he is looking for ideas.
A mobile mechanic or truck garage near-by

I think the balancer he needs is obsolete.
Mike H will join in and give us some insight on that,we were just talking about it the other day.
Mike may have a used one,not sure.

My Cat house had it 3 years ago when mine came apart on the 88FC. Sorry I don't remember the part number. I know it's not a simple job and would be best for a shop.

call the local fire company non emergency number and get a Mobil tech referral. if no help call local excavator contractors with that been in business for 40 years advert on their calling card for a referral. Ask if you can drop their name with the tech.

when you call the tech tell him it is a dump-truck and not an RV.

There is a Western Branch Diesel shop just north of Richmond, in Ashland. There is also a Carter CAT Equipment shop in Ashland that works on Bluebirds.

Western Branch Diesel’s number is (804) 550-2816. Their address is
10194 Kings Acres Road, Ashland Va

Carter Cat (800) 835-1166
10990 Air ParkRoad
Ashland Va 23005

Both are good shops, I have used both, but neither is cheapl

Good luck,

Randy B

Here’s the part number Bill Lott posted when his went on the road
“10R-0715 and it was $400 for a remanufactured one from Cat plus a $200 core deposit”.
Bill was able to get the one quick from a Cat house.
