Mine was at 2600 hours and bearing was fine. I have no idea if it had ever been changed. The others can speak for themselves on hours but theirs looked to have more wear. Thanks Paul for posting pictures.

Tim’s bearing was in Very Good condition, if not Brand New.
I believe he will be cleaning it and Repackaging for Resale...

My dad, "Carp" lived during the depression. He had a profound impact on me. He rolled over in his grave when I took the perfectly, tested bearing out and replaced it with another. I couldn't force myself to throw it away. It is indeed for sale as everything is other then Melissa..... she has a double mortgage on her.

My bearing had 2557 hrs on it. It would not have lasted much longer.
Glad I replaced it.

My generator is approaching 2700 hours.. I guess I need to move this up the list, especially getting closer to warmer weather when I use the generator more.

Well, I guess next year we will do mine, as I have over 7000 hours Plus, maybe roll in a set of bearings and a valve job

I have to say those guys took that job on and did it well.
I think they had great confidence because we have posted about the job here on WOG and because they had great support (and sarcasm) from the other guys watching.
They did the 2nd two fast, unlike Al,he messed around half a day, going to starbucks and shopping!
Just kidding Al!!
I remember years ago at the rallys we fixed stuff to get you guys home, now we do preventative stuff, that shows that the WOG is doing its job of informing you guys and supporting you as well.

We even fix washers and dryers!!
Nice work guys, and remember, you are the WOG.

THe low hour gennys seem to need the bearing more than the high hour gennys.
We suspect the weight of the rotor on the bearings while driving with the genny not running is hard on the bearing,of course thats a guess.

Irregular use of ball bearings causes flat spots, which get hot, overheat the grease and blow out the sealed bearings. Use those generators! I need to do a haul out of my quiet box genset in the 380 before summer hits.
