Default Facet Magnetic Fan Hub Needed for 82 FC

I am looking for the aluminum hub that attaches to the radiator fan for my 82 FC 35. I was able to rebuild the magnetic clutch several years ago but I guess the wear and tear before it went enlarged the hole where the bearing fits in. I have quite a bit of play around the outside of the bearing and guess the best thing would be to replace the casting.

I don't know if they will be able to help you but it wouldn't hurt to give a call to fanclutch.com (800) 525-0164 [ext. 22 or 16]

I think that an exact Facet part is going to be hard to come by, but they may be able to come up with a solution.

Thanks I'll call them tomorrow. I also found the number and web address in my blue box from when I repaired the clutch before. The company is SEPAC out of Elmira, NY. The parts list they gave me then says the hub is something they carry. Of course that was 6 years ago. If I can get a new hub that would be best.

I agree that a new Facet hub would be the best fix.
Let us know if they still have parts for all those FC owners with the Facet fan.

Also do a search on this site and look up the Horton Fan conversion. Many of us consider this solution an upgrade from the original electro-mechanical fan.

Is the Horton the air clutch? Last I checked it ran around $900. Not sure I can do that right now. Maybe after the kids are grown and gone. Do they ever leave?

Yes the Horton is quite expensive and no, it seems that they never leave. Thats why they are called the "Y" generation.

Y do I have to get a job?

Y do I have to pay my own way?

Y do I have to pay my own car insurance?

Y do I have to leave?

Y do I have to ........

John,
The Y generation. Makes sense now.

I took my fan hub to a couple machine shops in town an they were no help. The company that supplies the Facet parts doesn't have the hub in stock but will make one for $2000+. Someone out there that switched out their Facet clutch to something else must have the old one around somewhere. I've got everything else all I need is the cast aluminum hub. Does anyone know of someone who switched theirs out?
Desperate in Damascus!
The Facet people said if Iordered 2 it would cut the price in half. I don't know how much it would be if I ordered 3 or 4. Anyone else need one?

Attached isa copy ofthr quote I got from Sepac (Facet). A little pricey. Anybody have an old Facet Fan hub, or is there a way to secure the bearing in the aluminum housing?
