Default Help locating tie rod ends for 96’ PT-42

Repair shop has identified that my tie rod ends need to be replaced. They cannot locate the tie rod ends by my Spicer axle number. (The tie rod they ordered were incorrect.) They threw up there hands and say they don’t know what to do. Holland Motorhomes, Ridewell or Spicer cannot help.

Does anyone have any ideas where I might look.

No guarantees but the following info appears to be correct:

From 95-95 Chassis Parts Catalog:

BB - 1300383 TIE ROD END, FRONT
BB - 1300391 TIE ROD END, REAR

From a WB build sheet:

1300383 TIE ROD END,1.25-12 RH THREAD,STD LENGTH
1300391 TIE ROD END,1.25-12 LH THREAD,STD LENGTH

From this post by Barry Rhodes:

Replaced the tie rod ends on the steering drag link as the rubber seals on the old ones failed.

Good news for me. After the truck repair center couldn’t find the tie rods I asked about traveling with the damage tire rod. They sent a senior mechanic underneath the coach to inspect it. He found it there’s nothing wrong with the tie rods and the only thing that was wrong is the rubber boots were shot. It turns out I don’t need a new tire rods. I need to get rubber boots only.

Thank you John Wyatt for posting the part numbers and Barry Rhoda’s for bird dogging the part numbers. I will try to find the part numbers for the rubber boots and I’ll post them on this site.

I replaced mine in August on the steering drag link but I am not sure you will find just the rubber boots.
Here is the complete spreadsheet data I compiled while looking for the parts.

The BB print part number is from my years coach.

Don't know if our tie rod ends are the same diameter, but i had to replace mine. So here is the information I came up with - look at post #5 for dimensions. The post name for a search is - Tie Rod End Boot

Hope this helps!

Gunner, did they fit and seal correctly when you replaced them? Yours are completely different then the ones on my coach.

Barry, Yes the boot appearance is totally different and are of a far more resistant material then my original boots. My original boots were a soft black rubber, with rounded sides that looked like a slightly compressed ball ( like you see on cars). As for fit, they fit perfect and they hold grease just like the original ones. I have already greased the coach twice since installing the boots and they only take one squeeze of the grease gun to show grease being pushed out along the bottom. I was skeptical on now they would work out, but once I screwed on the tie rod nut to draw the tie rod in place, the new boots bottom (large end) made contact before being drawing up and flared a bit by the compression that was achieved by the final tightening of the tie rod nut.
