Good luck to all of you.
I have a few days left to drive to get home.
If we had not been home last year when Michael came to town we would have lost all of our furnishings.
You have to protect your own stuff,go get some big rolls of plastic,we call it visqueen.
we had a few rolls and we used it to cover everything, taking it on and off daily,to keep stuff dry.

Our weathmen are calling for it to be a cat 4 by the time it reaches land. I remember Katrina(was still working). Could not leave.
As far as basements are concerned, mine was converted to an underground swimming pool for my pet alligators and turtles. I even had to cover my mosquito farm. Remember, I'm 25 ft. above sea level, at least ya'll are higher

Here in Lynn Haven bottled water is selling out and there were lines at all the gas stations last night. The storm info update I got yesterday afternoon put the probability of tropical storm winds at 22% and hurricane force winds at 2% for our location. Earliest possible arrival is Tuesday.

Birds are tough; it takes a lot of wind to really hurt one. However, it doesn't matter how tough it is if a tree falls on it.

I'm still waiting to be able to move back into my house after Michael...

We are with BRhodes, in thought. Will be moving the bus to a safer location and good idea about strapping the a/c covers down, thanks. Got all our fuel cans filled early this morning. Bus is topped off with water and fuel. All the 4x4's are topped and ready for action. Even ordered a case more of Tru Fuel for our chain saws off Amazon, to arrive just after the storm. House Jenny's are ready. I am more worried about losing power than I am about this storm. I expect we will see winds coming at us from the NW, which will be the front of our house, only one window to be concerned with. Also the reason we are moving the bus. Vacant lot across the street loaded with those lovely pine trees I detest so much. Pine trees are what killed our first bird. Not getting this one! I would rather ride out any storm in my home, than on a highway, stuck in traffic and out of gas and food, with no bathroom.
It's the Floridian way.
