Default World Record

Ok well maybe that's not quite true but three generator main bearing R&R at one rally is some sort of record.
Tim Abbott, Alan Fink and Mark Burtis can now take that pm job off their plates. Two different type pullers needed as one bearing support casting had 3 arms and the other 4 arms. A trip or two to the parts store and the task was smooth from there.

I surely set no records doing mine, but the entire unit was taken apart, inspected and put back together with a new AVR. 12.5K 4 cyl gas Onan from the 70's.
No fun, but with a few friends?... another story!

I thought it was good fun! 4-5 people on a 1-2 man job makes them go very quick particularly as few of us have done more than one!

This is on my to do list.. Wish I was there could have taken care of it then.. I did get a photo of the bearing the other day when i was up under there trying to get the generator slide to come out. One of the locking pins has come loose, of course it was the side that had the contacts so the hydraulic pump would not kick on because the contacts were not being made. Good job guys, mine is on the back side so it’s not quit as easy..

Darryl, we only did easy stuff in the muddy campground that didn't involve forklifts or cherry pickers, neither of which we had!

Ha ha ha Steve and Chip, you’re right. I need to be there to see how it’s done.

How many hours did it have to cause this? I know your said PM, just curious. Something I might try one day. Engine crane and the like.
