Thank you. I called him before I replied as it was getting close to 5. Gave him my info, he is doing some research and will get back with me.

Same caliper pucks/seals & pads will fit either old or new hubs/rotors, front or back. I didn’t replace the calipers, but instead obtained new seals from King Kaliper and rebuilt the pucks. New pads and caliper rebuild kits weren’t expensive, and the ordering details are in the thread I referenced.

I knew Wayne had a newer unit, but i was not sure he saved the unit out of the interior fire coach.
His are closer to you,but if you want used i can sell you a complete rear with brakes out of a wrecked 380.

The PO (MN resident) of my new-to-me M380 mentioned that he had brake work done within the past two years. In organizing the 13 years of service invoices in the Blue Box, I ran across the following:

Foley Auto & R V Repair Inc
17150 Underwood Rd / Cty Rd 24
Foley, AL 36535
(251) 971-3770

Parts 03/24/2017
- Front brake pads......$649.80 ea
- Front brake rotor.....$717.41 ea
Parts 04/14/2017
- Rear brake pads.......$649.80 ea
- Rear brake rotor......$828.00 ea
- Rear brake chamber....$142.24 ea
- Rear wheel seal.......$105.64 ea

These are new parts. There is no other part number or source info on the invoices. However, the work was performed recently enough that Foley might be a good source of info for parts that you can’t otherwise locate.

I know nothing about Foley other than the brakes are still working 18 months and 8,000 miles later. I CAN say the PO was extremely picky about who he allowed to touch his 380. All coach invoices are from either Shorewood, the BB dealer he bought it from, or Parliament. All engine/transmission maintenance invoices are from the same heavy diesel shop near his house. I’ve got to believe he did his homework before he chose Foley to do the brakes.

Oh, for the curious, the 380 had 167,700 miles of travel all over the U.S. (w 4-down towed) before it needed the brake work.

Default Searching for 2004 M380 rear rotors

My parking brake was dragging and has caused the rear brakes to heat up, damage the pads and perhaps damaged the rotors. Should know more tomorrow.

I have heard that minor cracks in the rotors are acceptable but cannot find the Meritor literature having acceptance/rejection criteria. Does anyone have a link to that document?

Dan Hartley has the pads in stock but says it takes weeks to get rotors. Does anyone know of any new or gently used rotors that are available now?

Dan - sorry to read about your issue. Am sure you referenced link I provided above (#2) and my original thread referenced there about the brake ordeal I had several years ago. Even back then no one had the old rear rotors. However, for the rears Meritor was supplying new rear rotor/hub kits that fit perfectly using the old calipers. Meritor doc link and a ref for the caliper puck rebuild kits at King Kaliper was provided in that original post also. Let me know if you can’t find those links. I feel your pain. Seems as though you’ve said that to me once or twice before

Gather that Meritor will produce the new style rear hub/rotor kits eventually. However, the old style front rotors are NOT available and Randy is out of stock. What happens when one of our fronts goes out?

Dan, check page 134 in the Wanderlodge maintenance manual, the rotor pics show pics, etc..

Hi Dan, Any news about your rear rotor condition? Today, while having tire work on my bus, I checked my rear rotors, they look similar to the pics in the Meritor
manual, no long cracks. Good luck on your quest to find rotors..
