Default Trouble building air

90 SP

Air pressure building slower...took half hour today at idle today. Once I get her driving (so rpms up) running pressure jumps to and holds at 110 lbs or so. What should I look at first?

After you are fully aired up, turn off the engine and check under the coach for any air leaks.
You may need to replace your compressor governor as you should be running 125 psi when fully up.

Also, make sure your air dryer is not leaking and is purging out the bottom.

OK...found the leak. I am attaching a picture here:

Once I turn the rig off, you can hear air leaking out from behind the Air Pump.

Here is a pic, taken from the under the bed in the back (with the bed raised and the access cover removed.

I took a pic of where the air is coming from (where the arrow points to).

Anyone know what this is?

Need additional pictures from more angles. It is hard to identify what you are looking at.

That is your governor. Gasket might be leaking. If it's original, change it.

Bendix OR284358X D2 governor

There are different models for different pressure ranges. This one is 120 psi I believe.

I put rebuilds on mine... as long as they are Bendix, I'm good with it. They come with a certificate assuring you of quality. I'll see how well they last. They certainly look like new. I can't speak for other non-Bendix brand rebuilds.

It is a new GPD brand to replace Bendix 275491 and/or Midland 18530. Last time out air pressure built to well over 125 for about 1/2 hour before settling down. It behaved on the return trip but I'll put this one on before firing it up again.
