I’ve done the same. One time with a purchase I ‘made’’ on EBay (that was local) I was able to take he whole thing off the platform by contacting the seller. They have bots looking for terms that are along these lines. We had to be careful how we said things or the communication was blocked (on the fly). The site was watching what we typed, in real time. FYI.

A really nice DBW 2010 popped up on eBay and I'm sitting here pondering just buying it, but:

Every service part for the DBW is $100+ it seems.

The DBW is way louder/annoying than the Chicom unit! I mean way louder, I didn't expect it to be so different.

I thought the DBW had sealed connectors, but it doesn't. It has the exact same connectors as the Chicom.

Then I find a Youtube video showing a Spheros branded heater called a DBW 160 that looks just like a Webasto DBW 2010. I find that they cost $1300 new, including shipping. A Webasto DBW 2010, which looks exactly the same, costs $2700 new. Spheros and Webasto are the same thing, they even share documents between them. What is going on here?

I saw those, but they are a little low on the BTUs. And they are still more expensive. It looks like $1700 new from Canada. Nice compact unit, though.

Spheros ECM for DBW2010 would seem to confirm this

I think Webasto is the German word for special American pricing. That ECM, which costs $10 to make, they are asking 2.5 times the price of that Chicom heater I bought, or half the price of a completely new Spheros heater.

It's plenty of heat for us... most times, only one of the Suburbans is needed to keep us warm. This is equal to three of them- which would be more than enough to keep you toasty. It'll fit nicely under your battery tray and could be plumbed into the 1" heater lines that run up into the heater cores in the bus. Mine will boil at 5 gallon pail of water in about 10 mins. It draws around 10A when the pump is running.

Shane - how loud/annoying would you say it is? All the DBW2010's I've heard running are annoyingly loud with buzzing and other high-freq sound.

Andy,i went down to the local stereo shop asking about an amp to boost the tv sound.
The kid told me i had to have a this and a that too,not just an amp.
I asked him why?
He said "without the equalizer you won't hear the highs".
I said "dude,i'm 64 yo,i have not heard the highs in years!"

The place was full of kids, they all started laughing!
So we may not hear what your hearing!
Well,Shane might, but the guys that spent their youth in a truck shop and racing cars can't hear squat!

I'm half deaf in my left ear, so I'm getting there. I used to be able to hear a CRT's high freq power supply, I could tell any time a TV or monitor was turned on, and it baffled my parents because they couldn't hear it. That ended in my 20's. I worked in an office until 10 years ago, and since then I sit in a really loud machine shop all day going deaf. But I can still hear that DBW 2010!

Here's a bad video of my Chinaheater running. It's really quiet compared to the DBW's I've heard. I mean like if I muffle the exhaust roar a little bit I think it would be "silent" at night 10 feet away from it.
