Default Delo 400 SAE 40

In Arizona I bought enough Delo 400 oil to change the oil on the old bird. Now I have been told that that oil will not work with the two cycle engine.

Why won't it work if the ash content is low enough? Besides it is straight 40 weight oil. Let me know of any new thoughts on this subject.

Delo 400 has not been CD qualified for some years now. It was 6-7 years ago. Delo 100 is.

Following the suggestions of the members I tried to order from O'Reilly's with no luck. Same with Auto Zone. I guess its regional for such stores. NAPA at first told me they could get it, and then told me they couldn't.

In the end I searched for lubricant wholesale distributors and jobbers. Not far from home in Fort Worth I found two that could get Delo 100 40W, one of whom actually having a pallet of it in stock. You might try similar in your area. Fort Worth is a long way from WI, but if you want the contact info let me know.

Very strange, I'm in central Florida and my NAPA store gets me 2- 5 gal cans the next day. Thats just enough for the crankcase and to fill the auto oiler.

That's really strange, Donn. The O'Reilly's in Springtown and in Saginaw had no problem getting it out of their warehouse. They had to look it up on their computer but it was there. Wonder if the folks you talked to just didn't want to bother with it? I haven't tried the new O'Reilly's here in Decatur.

Donn,
I have not had a problem ordering it from my local O'Rielly's either.
