Any knowledge as to what is wrong? Seemed like a pretty healthy guy.

Default Allison mod at Q?

I followed up with W.W.Wiliams in Phoenix and they can do the Alison Mod to stop the downshift to 4th gear when using the jake brake. Their cost is $215.00 per unit. However their charge for portal to portal is over $1500.00 It will be cheaper to just drive to Phoenix for this update.

I think the Allison software is like $1200 a year. I think there is a discounted one-year license available for about $700. The hardware to connect is easy (if it's RP1210 I already have it). If someone has the old software around before they switched to the subscription model (2017) then it would cost zero. Enough WOG peeps seem to get this mod done, and for troubleshooting it might be useful, too, that you guys should consider just buying it and split the cost.

Had this mod done awhile back at PHX WW. I remember it being the least expensive part (maybe $20?) of a bigger service ticket, when I switched to Transynd & had the trans completely serviced. Shifts noticeably smoother. Ah, the joys of a subscription model! . Went with change from 4th to 6th so it can be engaged at any speed and I control downshifts as needed.

What is the engineered reason to set it to 4th? I like to only use it to slow me down and if extended use, I am doing 35 while the Prevost Pro's are blowing past me and all the other commercial drivers. Problem with using jake at high speed is the jake in an automatic is a death trap with no mechanical link between the crank and the tires.

Just a heads up.. I will be selling the "Q: Casino" . I don't need a 24" enclosed trailer any more. It would be nice to find a Wanderlodge owner to buy it so it can still be a meeting/ gambling/ eating room. I have done lots of extras to it like adding 1000 watts of solar,Solar controller, 3000 watt inverter LED lights, strengthened the roof, movie screen, 500 amp hours in AGM batteries, Prodigy brake controller ( you just plug the 12 volt plug into anything you tow it with without stringing wire) . There is a 30 amp plug in the front to plug into the coach wiring or a 12 volt cable that clips on the house battery terminals which gives you lots of boon docking power plus the ability to charge the "Casino" batteries if you have a " Crockpot cooking class" or a sewing room. There is a clear swivel curtain for the rear to keep the cold and wind out and a kerosene heater and fuel that go too. There are pictures below
Anyway, if interested stop by at "Q".

If you are thinking of parking near the cactus, beware because the schoolie left lots of nails behind.

We just put a deposit on an 87 FC35 in Bisbee and are set to pick it up Saturday morning. Quartzsite is on our way home. Is it ok if we stop by for the evening so everyone can look at my bus and tell me what a fool I am for buying it and what I'm doing wrong?
