Default Cold start

It’s been 35 degrees in Washington and we haven’t started the coach in a couple weeks. Is there a procedure for cold starting it, or should I just give it a shot and see?

I would turn the block heater on, if not on now, and let it warm up for several hours. Ensure your start batteries are up and give it a twirl.

Thank you, Rick. Now, how do you turn on the block heater?

Check your main breaker panel for your block heater switch.
Remember to turn it off after you get it running.

He may have a switch on the swing down cabinet door under the sink area.

I found this on one of the 2 stroke Detroit pages a while back and it had enough supporters to make it try it. I've started mine in temps in the 20's doing the following:

Crank it for 5 or so seconds then let sit 10 seconds or so.
Repeat. (I get a couple hits here... )
Crank for a little longer but repeat the pause if it doesn't fire. (mine starts on enough cylinders to run)

Theory goes the engine creates heat while turning over. The pause allows the heat to transfer to other parts of the engine. Don't know how true that is, but it worked for me.

Mine has a switch in the closet behind the bed. Also make sure the breaker is on in the panel.

After you've had it on a while, go feel the block. It should feel warm. Mine didn't. My block heater was burnt out, and I had to replace it.
When I did, I just left the normal plug on, and I now run a cord to it. Or, you could wire it back in like OEM.
