Default Heat Barrier Fan

I stopped for the night and while resting noticed a clicking noise. With some effort traced the clicking to a relay in the front load center. Disconnected the wires and stopped the clicking. Checked the wiring diagram and this relay and wires controls the "heat barrier fan". What is it and can I live without it until I get home?

John, Is it the fan that blows across the top of your engine compartment to keep the bedroom cooler?
