Default 2014 Michigan Rally

I kind of changed the name from the Michigan Rally only because if we decide to go to this location then the name would be more appropriate and less confusing.

Dave Styf and I talked about looking into this location a year or so ago. http://4hfair.org/rv/rvcamping/ We ended up at Chain-O-Lakes State Park instead. That was a nice location but unfortunately limited in 50 amp hook ups and no building available for our use.

This location has seen many different rallies annually and caters to them, unlike Pine Ridge at Birch Run. Unfortunately there aren't any trees. But there are limitless possibilities for growth and it is in an area that has lots of things to do. Goshen is about 15 miles from Shipshewana, where the women love to shop and the flea market. About 20 miles from Bontragers Salvage yard, where the guys like to go. About 10 miles from Elkhart and the RV Museum and so on. Depending on the dates we have it there may be other things to do, also.

It seems to me that this location may fit the bill for the earlier Shipshewana Rally that just can't get any bigger due to the location used the last time; and the Michigan Rally that got fed up with the owners of Pine Ridge this year. So if you haven't already clicked on the link above, do so, and see what they have to offer and it discusses rates. Let me know if you want me to check into it further. We should also probably start discussing dates too. This isn't going to be like Pine Ridge where dates are of little concern. This location hosts a lot of rallies and if we want some of the prime spots then we probably need to move early. You can see on the link how many rallies they have scheduled for this year. So lets get the discussion started early if this is something that may be of interest to the group.

Of interest, the owner (Poncho is his son who now runs the park) is a former Blue Bird owner and resides part time in TGO, the Winter home of many Blue Birds.
Bill Pape, is this guy your winter neighbor? Do you by chance know him?

Ponchos is the #2 in Michigan for us. They treat you right and Ludington has lots to offer and to do. I dont know if campfires r okay but you can ask or maybe they can group us off the beaten path. Just not in the back row next to the railroad tracks. The campfire I enjoyed last year.
I will agree with Ron it is the fellowship of the group no matter where we can go.. There are many places that can accomidate us in the state.

Would anybody be interested in a Ludington, MI rally after the kids are in school, say early September? Sounds like a neat place.

Ron,

I could possibly attend if it doesn't fall on the same weekend as the ECTA September 26-28 Land Speed Race at Wilmington, Ohio.
