Properly adjusted 300 hp will run 13 to 15# boost. More than that can be too much on the main bearings.

I haven’t pulled any big hills since the new CAC. I have seen 8 to 9 lbs on the small hills though. The most I’ve seen on the EGT’s is 950 to 1000. I think those are good numbers.

Default Green belts

Brian,

Are those green belts Cat things or a better brand of belt?

Belts are Gates Fleetrunners, hold adjustment better than many. OP's pump could stand a hit of fuel if a little more power would be required.

Thanks Brian & Mike,

I have similar numbers. 8 or 9 on small inclines and up to 12 or 13 on long hills. With driving in the Midwest, I'd say my cac is performing like your new one! No need to test it. Might need a fuel pump adjustment though.

Mike what EGTs would you see with the 13-15# boost?

I try not to go over 900 deg. so I have a reserve in case I need it. ( like getting out of the way of a truck coming from behind)

Everybody with a CAC needs to test it.
I have checked several, and everyone of them was a major leaker.
My fuel mileage on my coach picked up a full mile per gal with the new CAC.
