Help me understand M380 weight.

I carry a telescoping ladder like Don’s. However mine is taller, which allows it to extend above the roof line. This allows one to climb a rung or two higher and then step off the ladder directly directly onto the roof. A portable ladder is sometimes better than a fixed one because it can be positioned closer to the work area. With this ability I often don’t need to actually get on the roof, or it means less walking on the roof if I do. A removable foam pool noodle is used on the verticals to protect the side of the bus. With these ladders a higher weight capacity rating translates to more stable/sturdy. Though I am exceedingly careful, with the solar project I successfully made hundreds of round trips up & down that ladder. This is the one I carry (See the video link):

By the way, the M380 has no walkways and it’s roof is not designed for “roof partying”, like some of the other BB buses. Though the aluminum skin will support some weight, it’s best to step on the underlying support stringers when moving about the roof. Lastly, there are no goat rails to grab onto and it is a LONG way to the ground!
