Default M380 rear brakes

Not expecting any difficulty, I brought my coach in for brakes. It appears that rear brake rotors are on the same line as unicorns. Does anybody have any leads on where I might find some originals. I would also be interested in the upgrade kit where you change the hubs and rotors to something Meritor refers to as new and easily acquired. However my research shows them on back order till mid 2019. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Won’t help with current sources, but you’ll get allot out of following the link posted in #3 here - https://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.c...d.php?p=421636

Three plus years ago, new rear rotors required new hubs. Both were available online back then. Front hubs/rotors on the other hand were made from unobtainium. For the fronts, thankfully Randy D had some old original style rotors/hubs in his magic warehouse.

Steve - did you call FIP at the link in my earlier post? They’re still showing the rear kit & were the best price back then (with coupon) for the rear “kits”. But they’re a dropshipper so I had to verify they were in stock. Remember calling Meritor distribution (Louisville?) directly who confirmed stock status & were helpful once I found the right person. Coordinating with them expedited the process. However, the fronts were unobrainium and Randy saved the day there. As mentioned previously, that whole project wasn’t cheap but my peace-of-mind when stepping on the pedal has been priceless over the years.

Yes, I called FIP. They just apologized and said they weren't in stock. Florida Spring and Axle says they're a Meritor dealer, so I left it up to them to call Meritor. Florida Spring id the one who told me the backorder.

If/ when I do the update with the new hubs, do I need to replace the calipers also? Or will my old calipers still fit? just get by with changing the pads.

It's got 138000 miles. I'm guessing original brakes. Posting pictures is about at the end of my technical ability. I hit things with hammers for a living. I'll give it a try later when I have a bit more time.

Randy, Wayne in MO says one of his axles is out of a fire damaged unit he believes is a 2004. The other axle assembly he believes is newer. He seems to think you would know if it's the old style or the new style, any chance you do?

Thanks, Steve
